The Creature Cruiser Wheel Wells VX Mortem is John Worthington’s Creature pro model, in the Cruiser Wheel Wells VX Mortem version.

Creature was built in San Jose around Jason Adams and Darren Navarrette and has stayed faithful to its horror, zombie and NorCal-punk visual language instead of following short-lived trends.

The model stays inside Creature’s horror-heavy NorCal language: dark illustration, monsters and macabre themes are part of the brand’s core identity rather than seasonal decoration.

This version measures 9.0″ x 32.0″ with 13.875″ wheelbase. The wider outline puts more board underfoot and favours a planted, stable feel, especially on transition and larger terrain. The short wheelbase makes the turning arc compact and the stance relatively tight. The confirmed shape is Shaped / cruiser.

VX construction: five plies of North American maple are combined with two layers of Quad X composite. Santa Cruz describes VX as thinner, stronger and more pop-retentive than a standard 7-ply, reducing wood thickness without giving up the stiffness expected from a skate deck.

Wheel wells: the recessed areas above the wheels create extra clearance between wheel and deck. That reduces the risk of wheelbite when using larger wheels or leaning hard into turns, without requiring the whole deck to sit higher.
