Jacker: from independent magazine to French skatewear

Jacker grew out of a free independent magazine launched in southern France in 2011. Its pages brought skateboarding together with hip-hop, graffiti and the broader underground, using outspoken interviews and a deliberately uncompromising voice. After building an audience through skateshops, the project introduced clothing in 2014, bringing its editorial voice into an independent apparel collection.

That publishing history still shapes Jacker's designs. The graphics draw on 1990s skate and music culture, with humour, bold lettering and a distinctly irreverent mood. T-shirts, hoodies and accessories feel more like extensions of a creative scene than anonymous streetwear. BUD highlights that link between independent media, skate culture and clothing: the idea of wearing a point of view rather than following a seasonal trend.
