Founded in 1995 under Pierre André Sénizergues, éS Skateboarding helped define the technical skate-shoe boom. The Accel combined a padded tongue, reinforced upper and considered outsole with the support riders wanted for demanding street skating. Rather than simply adding bulk, the designers were thinking about flick, durability and how a foot moves on griptape.
Signature shoes linked to Eric Koston reinforced the brand's standing in the late 1990s and beyond. Today éS remains associated with a period when footwear innovation was central to skateboarding's progression. The enduring appeal of the Accel is partly historical, but it is also about a recognizable fit and the practical details that made the original influential.
