Quartersnacks: a New York skate blog with its own voice

Quartersnacks began in New York in 2005 when Konstantin “Kosta” Satchek and friends turned their local sessions, spots and inside jokes into a website. It grew into one of the most recognisable voices documenting East Coast street skating, without adopting the formal tone of a major sports publication. The humour is part of the reporting.

The weekly skate-clip countdown, photography, travel posts and historical features have made the site a living record of how the city skates. Apparel and collaborations, including work with Nike SB, extended that viewpoint into objects people can wear. At BUD, Quartersnacks matters because it treats skateboard culture as something created by the people sharing a session, not merely by a list of professional contest results.
