Enjoi emerged in 2000 through Marc Johnson, with Rodney Mullen involved in its beginnings. Its panda logo, colourful artwork and deliberately light-hearted attitude offered a counterpoint to skateboarding's tougher image. The name itself was a reminder that skating should be fun.
Jerry Hsu, Louie Barletta and Jose Rojo helped give the team its distinctive personality. Films such as Bag of Suck combined remarkable tricks with absurd humour and a strong sense of friendship. Enjoi boards carry this visual history forward: graphic experimentation and skate culture that refuses to confuse seriousness about skating with taking itself too seriously.
