chocolate boards bar series III back at the bar evan hecox

Five skateboard decks. One visual story. A modern return to a Chocolate classic.

Chocolate Bar Series III – Back at the Bar revives one of the most recognisable ideas in skateboard graphics: the Bar Series illustrated by Evan Hecox. Originally associated with Chocolate’s iconic 2000 Bar Scene artwork and revisited in 2009, the concept returns in a third edition featuring five members of the contemporary Chocolate team. This is the complete five-deck set, not a selection of individual boards.

A piece of Chocolate skateboard history

Since the 1990s, Chocolate Skateboards has cultivated a distinctive visual identity in which the board is as much a canvas as a piece of skate equipment. Evan Hecox’s graphics are central to that identity: his expressive illustration, considered colour palettes and everyday urban characters give his artwork an instantly recognisable personality. The original Bar Scene concept became a reference point for collectors; the 2009 reinterpretation extended its story. Back at the Bar carries that lineage into the present without simply presenting five unrelated graphics.

Designed to be appreciated as a complete display

The appeal of this set lies in the way the five deck graphics converse with one another. Hung side by side, they create a continuous visual rhythm, turning a living room, studio, office, skateshop or dedicated collection wall into a small skate-art exhibition. Each piece stands on its own, but the full set best expresses the concept and makes a compelling display for enthusiasts of Chocolate, Evan Hecox and skateboard art history.
