Paul Rodriguez launched Primitive Skateboarding in 2014, building on an earlier Primitive retail and apparel project. From the start, the board company placed technical street skating, strong team footage and carefully designed graphics at the centre of its identity. Nick Tucker and Carlos Ribeiro appeared alongside Rodriguez in the launch film.
The 2022 full-length DEFINE added another major chapter, featuring Tiago Lemos, Wade DesArmo, JB Gillet, Miles Silvas and a deep international roster.
