Pizza Skateboards started in California in 2014, taking a wonderfully unlikely source of inspiration from neighbourhood pizza shops. Artist Petty Crimes helped shape the original look, including an intentionally straightforward logo influenced by the lettering found on restaurant signs. A small initial board range grew into a recognisable skate label with its own team and videos.
There is more to Pizza than the obvious visual joke. The graphics have expanded far beyond food references, while the skating remains rooted in genuine street sessions and a loose, friendly attitude. Its boards balance memorable artwork with shapes intended to be ridden rather than simply displayed. Pizza proves that humour and proper skateboarding are perfectly compatible, and that a brand can have a strong identity without constantly taking itself too seriously.
