Habitat Skateboards: a distinct vision of street skating

Habitat began in 2000 as an offshoot of Alien Workshop, with Joe Castrucci shaping its artistic direction. Its distinctive presentation drew on nature, understated typography and carefully considered skateboard filmmaking. Rather than relying on loud graphics, Habitat made the feeling around a video or a board as important as the tricks themselves. That visual discipline became part of the label's identity.

The 2003 film Mosaic brought together a remarkable line-up, including Kerry Getz, Fred Gall, Tim O'Connor, Brian Wenning and Stefan Janoski. Their different approaches to street skating made the team memorable without forcing one uniform style. Habitat's boards retain an appeal rooted in both function and visual culture, giving the name a lasting place in skateboarding history.
