Element's story reaches back to 1992 and the original Underworld Element project associated with Andy Howell and Johnny Schillereff. As the company evolved, Schillereff reshaped its identity around the now-famous tree emblem and the idea of earth, wind, water and fire. Nature and urban skateboarding became part of a single visual language.
Over the following decades, Element established itself through skateboards, clothing, a high-profile team and videos including Elementality. The tree logo has become one of skateboarding's most enduring symbols, but the brand's identity is about more than recognition. It connects the freedom of street skating with art, community and a respect for the outdoors, an unusual combination that helped define Element's place in skate history.
