Chocolate Skateboards: style, film and the Crailtap family

Chocolate was established in California in 1994 as a sister company to Girl Skateboards. It offered a new home for a talented crew including Chico Brenes, Daniel Castillo, Paulo Diaz and Richard Mulder, and soon became a creative force in its own right. The team brought a relaxed but highly technical approach to street skating.

Artwork is central to the Chocolate story. Evan Hecox's distinctive city-inspired illustrations helped give the decks a recognisable visual language, while films such as Las Nueve Vidas de Paco and Hot Chocolate captured the personalities behind the boards. Chocolate feels closely connected to skateboarding's creative side: beautiful graphics, memorable filming and riders with unmistakable style. BUD brings together that visual heritage and the enduring appeal of a core Crailtap skateboard brand.
