Established by Edwin Faeh in 1994, Carhartt Work In Progress took the durable American workwear vocabulary of Carhartt and gave it a new cultural life in Europe. WIP launched its skate and BMX teams in 1997 and built lasting connections with underground music, graffiti and contemporary art, rather than treating those scenes as passing trends.
