Antiz Skateboards began in Lyon in 2002, started by riders Hugo Liard, Julian Dykmans and Julien Bachelier with photographer Loïc Benoît. The company emerged while independent European skateboarding was finding its own voice. Rock music, offbeat humour and a deliberately raw visual direction set Antiz apart from cleaner industry imagery. Its owl emblem and reversed A became recognisable symbols.
The brand's films and trips are as important to its personality as the board graphics. Antiz celebrates travelling with friends, finding unfamiliar spots and skating without too many rules. Its identity remains closely connected to the French scene that created it, while the videos and riders carry that spirit far beyond Lyon.
