Creature Warriors VX Jhanka Gonzalez 8.375″ is the pro model of Colombian skater Jhancarlos “Jhanka” Gonzalez. The 8.375″ x 32″ format sits in a versatile middle ground: enough width for confident landings and transition skating, while remaining responsive for technical street skating. Its 14.5″ wheelbase gives the deck a stable, controlled feel without making it sluggish.

VX construction: thinner, lighter and reinforced

The main difference is the VX construction. Instead of relying on a conventional seven-ply maple layup, VX uses five plies of North American maple reinforced by two high-strength composite layers. This hybrid construction allows the deck to be made thinner and lighter while increasing resistance to repeated impacts and helping it retain its pop and shape for longer.

That matters in real skating: the board keeps a crisp, responsive feel underfoot while the reinforcement is designed to reduce the loss of stiffness that standard maple decks can develop after repeated sessions.

Creature VET concave and DL-9-VX shape

This model uses Creature’s VET concave, developed as an all-terrain profile with mid-height kicks. On a mid-width deck such as this 8.375″, the concave remains relatively mellow, giving the feet secure reference points without feeling excessively locked in. The DL-9-VX shape measures 32″ long with a 14.5″ wheelbase, a 6.9″ nose and a 6.514″ tail.

The Warriors series was illustrated by Matt Stikker. The graphic is not only cosmetic: as slides, grinds and normal wear cut through the print, a blood-red layer underneath is gradually exposed, so the visual evolves as the deck gets skated.
