The Santa Cruz Slick VX Misprint Danger is Blake Johnson’s Santa Cruz pro model, in the Slick VX Misprint Danger version.

Santa Cruz has been making skateboards since 1973 and its visual history is inseparable from Jim Phillips, whose work helped give the brand some of skateboarding’s most recognisable graphics.

The specified finish is slick coating.

This version measures 8.6″ x 31.95″ with 14.25″ wheelbase. The wider outline puts more board underfoot and favours a planted, stable feel, especially on transition and larger terrain. The wheelbase keeps the stance compact and the turning response lively.

VX construction: five plies of North American maple are combined with two layers of Quad X composite. Santa Cruz describes VX as thinner, stronger and more pop-retentive than a standard 7-ply, reducing wood thickness without giving up the stiffness expected from a skate deck.

Slick bottom: the low-friction bottom treatment is there to make ledge and rail slides smoother while also adding a protective outer layer to the deck. On this model it is part of the specified construction, not just a printed finish.
