Close Up Fingerboards has been part of the French fingerboarding scene since 2006. Founded by Dijon skateboarder Damien Bernadet, the label takes the shapes, components and technical imagination of skateboarding into miniature form. A fingerboard is controlled with the fingers, yet its tricks still depend on timing, pop, balance and repeated practice.
Close Up makes small decks and related equipment inspired by the world of full-size skateboards. The appeal lies in translating familiar manoeuvres—ollies, flips, grinds—onto tables, ledges and purpose-built fingerboard obstacles. It creates a space for creativity when going out to skate is not an option, but it has also developed a culture of its own. BUD presents Close Up as a serious and playful branch of skateboarding, where details matter just as much as they do on a street setup.
