Cash Only: 1990s skate and hip-hop culture

Cash Only was launched in Perth in 2018 by Garth Mariano and Matt Evans, the founders of Butter Goods. Its name and attitude look back to a time when skate videos travelled on VHS, music came on physical formats and local skate shops were cultural meeting points. That pre-digital atmosphere informs a label with a clear affection for the 1990s.

Cash Only draws on classic hip-hop, cult cinema and the streetwear graphics of the period. Baggy denim, sweatshirts and illustrated T-shirts meet oversized lettering, throwback motifs and easy-to-wear silhouettes. Although the references are unmistakably old school, the clothes are reworked for contemporary skating and everyday use. The label offers a different creative expression from Butter Goods while sharing the same independent Perth roots.

Discover Cash Only at BUD Skateshop for skatewear built around music, street culture and the visual language of the nineties.
