The Santa Cruz VX Part One is Jake Wooten’s Santa Cruz pro model, in the VX Part One version.

Santa Cruz has been making skateboards since 1973 and its visual history is inseparable from Jim Phillips, whose work helped give the brand some of skateboarding’s most recognisable graphics.

This version measures 8.5″ x 32.2″ with 14.375″ wheelbase. The width gives a balanced amount of board underfoot for street, park and mixed terrain. The wheelbase adds a little more room between the trucks and steadies the board without becoming long.

VX construction: five plies of North American maple are combined with two layers of Quad X composite. Santa Cruz describes VX as thinner, stronger and more pop-retentive than a standard 7-ply, reducing wood thickness without giving up the stiffness expected from a skate deck.
